Review:
Like so many of their fellow countrymen, Italian duo Complikeyted Disorders are based in Berlin and you can hear the city’s influence on their latest release. Both the title track and “Ms” are based on stripped back, reduced rhythms, which provide the backing for spooky textures, half-heard vocal snatches and buzzing bass tones. This combination makes for an out-there feeling, the result of too many lost weekends spent at after-parties. The tone changes radically on “FC”. The tempo is higher, the rhythm rougher and noisier and evil rave riffs and dubbed out drums and percussion vie for the listener’s attention. Like the other tracks though, “FC” creates an alluring, hypnotic effect.
